Jul. 9th, 2005 04:43 pmGoogle Earth is now running on my PC. It is so much Wheee! fun and faster than just using Google Maps. I adored flying between the buildings in New York and Chicago, clicking on them, and getting phone numbers. The address-locator is isn't terribly accurate in smaller cities, tending to be off off by a couple hundred yards, but I could still see my white car sitting outside my house. Whoa. Unfortunately, coverage for Antarctica isn't up to the same level as the rest of the globe (gosh, wonder why nobody wants to fly over all that ice?), so I couldn't find McMurdo, or even Ross Island. This gizmo is such a time-suck; I love it.
